This guy on fire at a soccer match. It appears the police officer attempted to put out the flare of the soccer fan with pepper spray (which is oil based, so... flammable) Fortunately, apparently the guys' fine. There's a video of it here that shows that despite what the picture looks like the fireball was only there for a brief second. Especially with portraits, keep shooting often. You never know when they'll suddenly flash that one perfect smile or laugh or look for a brief moment. You can delete the others later. The Corporation of Delta just finished their Earth Day photo contest, and the winners are posted here. Congratulations to Brad Yuen "Boardwalk" and Alex Vales "Moss" who placed 1st and 3rd in the teen category! I managed a 1st in the much less contested staff category "Curve" (update: oops, apparently I was ineligible - Delta school district staff is different than Corp. of Delta staff.)
The Fraser Valley Regional Library also concluded it's Picture This Teen Photo Contest and Vanessa Saconne won the Grand Prize! with "Adventures in the City" Here are the winning photographs, in respective order. 16-year-old artist's masterful hyper-realistic pencil Portrait wins national competition. Story here. My daughter loves this one currently. She likes to yell out what's happening. Especially the sharks. and from the same filmmaker, Guillaume Blanchet: "The Man Who Lived on His Bike"
"I love being on a bike, it helps me feel free. I get it from my dad. After days and days of cycling the streets of Montreal, come cold or sun, or even a little frightened, I dedicate this film to him." |
