http://vimeo.com/27359051 (It's in high definition, so fullscreen it if your computer can handle it.) This video is a stop motion video made up of a year's worth of staged photographs in different places in California. I don't think I can explain how cool it is, both as photographs and as a video. Notice they sometimes add a neat effect where only the center is in focus and the top and bottom are out of focus. This can be attained with a Tilt shift lens, which can be cheap (LensBaby) or can be added in an editing program afterwards. And my gosh, does the right song ever make a difference to the impact of a video! Notice that the climax of the song coincides with the fireworks? Definitely by design.
My brother and his friend made up silly rap songs in university. Every so often they get together and make a new one. They made a stopmotion music video to go with the most recent one. I'm especially impressed at how they must have fiddled with the timing of the words appearing to exactly match when they're saying them. And that they managed to rhyme Khalid Sheikh Mohammed! Their bizarre choices for examples of nouns make me laugh - they definitely didn't stick to easy ones. Nouns, Nouns, All Around from tanner evans on Vimeo. |
