Drawing a pretty impressive picture. After scanning in the initial sketch, the rest of the art is done almost entirely in photoshop. Not mixing photos, erasing parts, or changing heads... but CREATING from scratch, all digitally.
You know how macbooks have those glowing apples on the back? People have come up with some pretty cool designs utilizing it:
These guys do pretty fun things with their music videos. They became well known for their one-long-shot of them on 8 treadmill machines for "Here it Goes Again". I'll put it below in case you haven't seen it. The music video on top is for "This Too Shall Pass", and is also based on the idea that everything has to work perfectly in one long shot, or you have to start all over. Who knows how many times they had to do it to get it right. It's interesting that, based on some of the videos being shown in class, like some of the stop motions, that videos can be impressive just by being obvious about the sheer amount of work it took to make. View fullscreen and pump up the resolution to 720p if your computer can handle it. Hi-def time lapse video taken from the International Space Station as it flew over the earth (or, more accurately, the earth rotated beneath it) from Aug-Oct 2011. Incredible views of electricity in cities, northern lights, lighting storms, etc. New music video for Hudson for the song Against the Grain by a guy named Jonathan Chong. "100s of hours pushing 1000s pencils around a table in a dark studio" Hudson - Against The Grain from Dropbear on Vimeo. If you didn't notice already, Jones Soda always has different pictures on their bottles. They choose those photos from customer submissions. So if you want to throw a photo into the mix, to maybe have it be chosen and printed on their bottles, check it out here.
Secondly, if you want to make sure that your photo is on a bottle, you can custom order a 12-pack with your own photo and message on it. Cost is just under $50 when you include shipping. Good for celebrating special events like weddings, or graduation with a group shot of friends, etc. Great program for turning photos into posters. It slices and dices the photo into individual pdf pages, which can then be cut and put together. PosteRazor is a free download.
These incredible scenes are actually made from book pages. The artwork is created by Su Blackwell, and there's a lot more beautiful pictures of the designs on her website here.
