...is apparently shooting photographs through a microscope, and is the focus of Nikon's Small World Microphotography competition, which has been going on since 1975. For example, one of these photos is a closeup of a honeybees' eye, this year's winner is human skin cells. Go here to see all the winners past and present, go here to read a bit of explanation.
Local man Mark Truelove has been working for several years on adding colour to old black and white photographs, starting with WW1 as part of the "First World War in Colour" project by the Vimy Foundation, and now just general life. (Click on the link, the sliders way of displaying them is pretty awesome)
It seems to make them more realistic, and hopefully impactful, once they are in colour. "When you look at old black and white photos, the past seems very far away."
