Vancouver is a major filming location, it's even nicknamed "Hollywood North". Lots of movies and TV shows shoot in Vancouver and pretend or edit it to be some other city. ex. In Twilight it's Forks, Washington. In Fringe it was New York and Boston. In Mission Impossible 4 it was India. The final scene in Tron they're driving over the Lion's Gate Bridge. TV shows filmed in Vancouver recently are Continuum (which actually calls it's city Vancouver), The Killing, Once Upon a Time, and Almost Human. There's always lots of movies and TV shows filmed here. It's neat to recognize Vancouver Library and see that it's now City Hall, or This article talks about Vancouver's futuristic looking architecture and editing it to be even more futuristic. Macro pictures of snowflakes by Russian photographer Alexey Kljatov. More pics on his photostream here. I found the original article here. There's a link where he shares the setup he created for others who want to replicate it. Note: Some of them look like a hairy background? That's because they've fallen onto carpet.
