filters
This assignment will allow you to explore the many filters and effects in our vesions of Photoshop Elements. Different programs out there have some of the same effects and some different, and in the future others will be developed. The purpose of this assignment is not to get you to memorize what each one does, but to open your minds to the possibilities of what you can do to your photos, as well as discover some you really like in the program you're using now.
You can take a good photo of anything you like. You will then come up with 4 different versions using different combinations of "Filters". Going to the filter gallery will allow you to try out a bunch of things - some will look terrible and some will look great. Start by reading through this tutorial about how to use the filter gallery: http://www.tutorial9.net/tutorials/photoshop-tutorials/photoshops-filters/ Try many things. There are more filters available from the drop down menu "Filters". Eventually pick your favourite 3 edits to hand in along with the original.
When you hand in your pictures, save them as

How to import video from camcorder to imovie. 1) Connect power to camcorder 2) connect usb from camcorder to imac (does this work with the macbooks too?) 3) select button on camcorder that will usb connect with the computer 4) Then turn on imovie 5) click on camcorder looking button 6) select clips to import 7) if importing from an HD camera, don't import full quality (file sizes will overwhelm the macbook). This worked on my home imac with imovie 09 with jenna's sony dcr-sr46, canon fs300, canon vixia hfm30. The m30 has a plug for external mic and headphone, the others have neither.
