Steve Jobs, CEO and co-founder of Apple (and Pixar) died yesterday from cancer. He's the guy responsible for Toy Story, ipods, iphones, itunes, imacs, ipads. It's crazy to think that only 10 years ago, there were none of these "i" products. Apple used to be a laughable company, almost bankrupt and nothing compared to the might of Microsoft, before Steve came back and turned things around. Steve Jobs, more than anyone else, has had an incredible influence on our culture and the risen importance (for good or bad) we as a culture place on consuming and creating media arts. He also stressed that products (think macbooks and iphones) should be beautiful pieces of design in themselves (which is probably why I hear that it's digital artists who are the group with the strongest preference for macs over pcs). This is made from pieces of an apple computer, designed to form a portrait of Steve Jobs. (click it to enlarge) Comments are closed.
